About
Leigh Hornbeck
Leigh Hornbeck is an Upstate New York native and veteran journalist with experience covering business, real estate and housing, planning and development, the judicial system, education, and politics, including two Congressional elections. She assists clients with media relations, community relations and local and state government matters. Leigh worked for 20 years as a staff writer at The Albany Times Union, the largest daily newspaper serving New York’s Capital Region, where she also served as an editor. Her Times Union feature articles were honored by the Society of Features Journalists and the Journalism Association of New York.
A graduate of Saint Michael’s College in Winooski Park, Vt., Leigh was raised in the Adirondacks, where her parents, Peter and Ann Hornbeck, both public school teachers, founded a venerable Adirondack business, Hornbeck Boats in Olmstedville. She grew up skiing at Gore Mountain and paddling the waterways of the Adirondack Park, and she is a frequent contributor to The Adirondack Explorer. Today, she and her family continue to pursue new adventures in the Adirondacks and are aspiring 46ers.
Leigh, her husband Josh and their two sons live in Wilton, Saratoga County, where she is a board member of the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation and committee member of the LifeWorks Latino Community Advocacy Program.
