Don Purdy

Hi, I’m Don Purdy, Director of the University at Albany’s MBA for Executives Program—and a firm believer in the power of education and community to transform lives.

I like to say our program comes with a “side effect”: promotions and pay raises. In fact, some students have told me they’ve doubled their salaries—sometimes more than once—before even graduating. Not bad for 22 months of commitment and growth!

What sets us apart? We’re the only in-person, executive-level MBA program of our kind in upstate New York. The pace is rigorous, the learning is practical, and the experience is global. Thanks to this role, I’ve walked the Great Wall of China, explored Machu Picchu, and stood inside the Taj Mahal—all alongside students and colleagues broadening their own horizons.

I enjoy connecting over coffee, hearing what drives people, and helping them chart their next big step—whether it leads to our program or not. At its heart, my mission is simple: to change lives, one MBA at a time.
