Joel Wood

My name is Joel Wood, and my claim to fame is helping employers across the North Country/Upstate New York and Vermont solve tough workforce challenges. I’m known for taking a relationship-first approach and turning problems into long-term solutions.

My specialty is workforce development and business growth. I focus on talent strategy, employer partnerships, and connecting businesses with the people and programs they need to operate efficiently and grow sustainably.

A lot of people think staffing is transactional - fill a job and move on. In reality, the work is much more strategic. It’s about workforce planning, training, retention, and helping businesses stay competitive in tight labor markets.

One of my proudest accomplishments has been helping build and support workforce initiatives that created real impact - including launching training programs, supporting major employer expansions, and helping businesses secure resources to grow and retain talent in the region.

Much of my work happens behind the scenes. In previous roles, I spent years organizing industry events, securing millions of dollars in grant funding, and connecting public and private partners to move projects forward - even when the credit never made the headlines.

I help businesses find, develop, and keep great people. Through Manpower, I work with employers to solve immediate hiring needs while building long-term workforce strategies that support stability, productivity, and growth.
