Kaitlin (Katie) Long

Greetings! My name is Katie Long and I hold a PhD in Sociology from the University at Albany, SUNY. My dissertation research centered around hunting culture right here in the Adirondacks, where I was fortunate to connect with many wonderful community members on important topics such as identity, family, stewardship, and the future of hunting traditions and values.

I am originally from Pennsylvania, where I completed my BA in Sociology at Kutztown University before relocating to Albany for graduate school. Following the completion of my master’s degree at UAlbany, I moved to the Adirondacks where I currently reside with my husband and our daughter.

I am extremely passionate about community development and am dedicated to serving our community through the implementation of grant programs.

For 41 years, North Country Rural Development Coalition has been an essential non-profit organization in the tri-county service area (Warren, Washington, and Essex), committed to enhancing and connecting the community through various programs, including housing restoration, downtown revitalization, historic preservation, and community development programs. As a rural preservation company (RPC), our organization plays a vital role in addressing the needs of our community.
