Maureen Darr

Hi, I’m Maureen, the Program Director at the Open Door Mission, which basically means I spend my days helping turn compassion into action. Around here, we meet people at their point of need—whether that’s a hot meal, a safe place to sleep, or a helping hand getting life back on track.

My job is part organizer, part encourager, and part professional problem-solver. I help coordinate the programs that provide meals, shelter, life-skills support, and resources for people in our community who could use a little extra hope. Think of me as the person making sure all the moving pieces work together so people feel seen, supported, and cared for.

On any given day I might be planning programs, supporting our team, working with volunteers, or helping guests take their next step forward. It’s busy, meaningful work—and yes, sometimes fueled by coffee and a healthy dose of optimism.

Because when you help open doors for people, amazing things can happen.
