Rick Lofstad here, proud fishmonger and owner of Moby Rick’s Seafood in Saratoga Springs, NY, where the seafood is fresh, the stories are questionable, and the fish probably had a better travel schedule than most people.

I run a seafood market, though after talking with me for five minutes, some customers stick around long enough to start feeling like family.

I’ve built Moby Rick’s around one simple philosophy: if it swims, crawls, or comes with claws, it better be top quality.

I’m passionate about bringing fresh seafood to Saratoga while keeping the experience fun, relaxed, and just a little bit chaotic in the best way possible.

Somewhere between hauling in shipments, helping customers figure out how to cook octopus without fear, and cracking terrible fishing jokes, I became “Moby Rick.”

If you stop by the shop, come hungry for seafood knowledge… and possibly a story that gets slightly exaggerated every time I tell it.
