About
Rikki Shaw
I help people rise from the ashes of abuse and adversity through words, wisdom, and lived experience.
I am a speaker, writer, and advocate for survivors, with a focus on those navigating the aftermath of domestic violence, economic abuse, and systemic injustice. My work is rooted in both practical recovery and spiritual restoration, helping people reclaim their voice, rebuild their lives, and move forward with purpose and dignity.
I served as a keynote speaker at the NNEDV National Economic Justice Summit, where I spoke on neuroplasticity, survivor leadership, faith, healing, and justice-centered recovery. Most recently, I spoke at the NYSCADV Economic Justice Forum and was featured on CBS6 Albany's Power & Politics and in the New York Post.
As an author and teacher, I have contributed to The Whisper That Roars, a devotional created to support those who feel unseen or unheard. I have also co-led courses on healthy boundaries and facilitated women's Bible studies for nearly a decade.
I serve as Board Secretary and Governance Chair for the Albany County Coalition on Homelessness, and as a licensed Real Estate Salesperson with 1971 Realty Group, a nonprofit brokerage, where my work is focused on expanding housing access for survivors fleeing domestic violence.
Today, I am building Roses From Ashes an initiative dedicated to changing the public policy and public perception of gender-based violence through storytelling, advocacy, and systems change.
