Todd Monahan

Hi, I’m Todd Monahan — principal pilot, owner, and all-around ringleader of Adirondack Balloon Flights by Sunkiss Ballooning, where my “office” is literally the sky. By day, I’m an addictions counselor helping people chase their passions… and by sunrise, I’m chasing the wind in a giant floating rainbow. I started ballooning after challenging my counseling group to follow their childhood dreams — they called my bluff, and within days I was crewing, licensed a year later, and never touched the ground again (figuratively speaking).

We rise at 4:15 a.m., wrangle propane tanks, unfold massive fabrics, and somehow make it all look effortless—like we just rolled out of bed fabulous. We toast landowners with champagne, swap wild stories midair, and make bucket-list dreams float. Honestly, it’s a tough job making people feel on top of the world (literally)… but someone’s gotta do it. And I’m grateful every single day that it’s me.
